There was a huge thunderstorm east of here late this afternoon. After dinner I decided to drive out towards Canyon Lake to get some pictures of clouds or the sunset or whatever turned up. I pulled off the road halfway between the Superstition Mountains and Canyon Lake. I was going to get on top of a small hill to get pictures of the sunset. It seemed like the lightening was far away. Then I heard thunder less than 10 seconds after a flash. Not a good time to be on top of a hill. I got back in the truck. The lightening flashes seemed to last a long time so I though I might be able to catch some. Out of about 40 attempts, I got one.
